June 25th – We were there and this girl was on fire!
It’s been more than 3 years that the French audience didn’t see Alicia Keys on stage.
She’s been all around the world with only one goal; “Set The World on Fire”. That’s the name of her tour … and a promise she kept!
And here she was with Bercy full of a mixed crowd expecting her. Young people, teenagers, older ones with kids, and, of course, many gay couples. Gay people love divas but Alicia keys brought a little plus than only crazy dancing moves like Rihanna. And if you see her always wearing the same outfit on the pictures, it’s because she doesn’t feel the need to keep changing clothes… Some like to keep it simple. She put her soul into it and did what she knows best: sit behind her piano and connect with the 18,000 people who came to listen to her in a very religiously way.
Opening the show was the sexy and talented Miguel – the R&b little man, full of energy and who always ends up shirtless for our pleasure. Sorry, no picture here…
After one hour and a half of a very soulful and intense show, Keys (w)rap it up with the sound of her very famous ““Empire State of Mind”… a powerful, hip-hop-styled version about her hometown… with a little twist… The audience cheered when she substituted “Paris” for New York.
Here’s the setlist of the show:
Karma, You Don’t Know My Name, Tears Always Win, Listen to Your Heart, Like You’ll Never See Me Again, A Woman’s Worth, Diary, Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready), Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart, 101, Fallin’, You’re All I Need to Get By, When It’s All Over
Limitless, Fire We Make, Unbreakable, Not Even the King, If I Ain’t Got You
No One, New Day, Girl on Fire, Brand New Me — Encore, Empire State of Mind
So if you get a chance to go and listen to her, run! Even if you don’t know all the songs, it is an evening with Alicia Keys that you won’t forget before long.
