Decibel levels will break a new record as the streets of Paris will come alive on Saturday, September 17th 2011 with the 13th annual staging of the Techno Parade under the theme “Indepen’danse ”.
The Techno Parade is a carnival-like parade of vehicles equipped with very loudspeakers and amplifiers playing techno music. The festivities will begin at 11:00 am at Place de la Republique with local Djs and dancers entertaining the spectators. The Parade will leave Republique at 1:00 pm and make its way through Place de la Bastille down the boulevard de l’hopital and ending for a grand party in Place de L’italie.
With International Superstar DJ Bob Sinclar as the main ambassador of this year’s event, hundreds of thousands of revelers are expected to line the streets of Paris as a record crowd is expected this year. The Techno Parade will highlight music sounds from Tunisia in honour of the Jasmine Revolution that rocked the Arabic political world earlier this year.
The Parade will see over 150 local Djs on trucks converted into foam spraying Mobile Night-clubs. Most of the local night clubs in Paris will be sure to take part in this musical extravaganza.
The main objective of Techno Parade is to promote the culture of electronic music , though at first was very popular among young people and the gay community, is now embraced by a larger public and this is usually reflected in the diverse nature of those who participate.
The partying will continue into the night with the two biggest parties being the Officail AFTER SHOW with the one and only Bob Sinclar, DJ Paulette, Lydie Jay, Michael Calfan, Gregori Klosman & guests at the Mix Club (metro Montparnasse Line 4, 13, 12) and the official TECHNO PARADE NIGHT at the Showcase Club (metro Champs-Elysées Clemenceau line 1, 13) featuring top Djs such as FELIX KRÖCHER, MONIKA KRUSE, JACK DE MARSEILLE, TIBO’Z and DEW TOWN MAYOR entry 15€
A special gay party CRUISING will be at La Plage du Glazart on Sunday from 3pm to midnight and will feature music and you know what for 10 €.
The event will also be dedicated to Henri Maurel, former co-president of Technopol who died on February 16th 2011. President-founder of DJ FG Radio, co-founder of the Techno Parade and one of the most fervent defenders of the Civil Union (PACS), he had enormous passion and ambition for the Parade.
